David Young, City Auditor and Director-Internal Management and Consulting, City of Brampton

Ken Stepan, Manager, Facilities Management Implementation, Public Works and Government Services Canada

"Jim reminds us of the simple things that we have control of to make our careers and lives successful, rather than just accepting what happens to us."

Randy Shalagan, Government of Alberta

"I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Jim Clemmer and I feel rejuvenated."

Michaelann Russell, Business Unit Administrator-Legal Services, Government of Alberta

"I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. Excellent delivery and related to several anecdotes presented, especially vis à vis balancing work pressures with family demands. Appreciated the creativity and humor in many of your expressions. Will make a point of reading your book."

Jerome Thauvette, Director, Infrastructure and Systems Procurement, Public Works and Government Services Canada

Lori Girard, Government of Alberta

Lenora Forseti, Government of Alberta

"Excellent speaker - relative subject, understood the audience."

Art Barr, Desktop Services Manager, Communications Security Establishment

"Great! One of the very best I have attended."

Bill Labrie, Government of Alberta

"My perspective is that being a speaker is not the issue, being the right kind of person is the issue. We did not hire you to speak at our conference because you were a good speaker (we had looked at video tapes of you and knew you were a good speaker), we hired you because of what we believed you knew, who we believed you were as a person, and how likely we believed it was that you would focus on meeting the needs of those persons attending the conference. MDOT has tended to look with major concern at persons who market themselves as motivational speakers. We have learned that motivation comes from within, not from a "motivational speaker." We can all think of "motivational speakers" who we have heard and then forgotten about in a few days. Our concern is to help leaders at MDOT become better leaders. Our ability to lead depends upon who we are and upon our successful efforts to become better leaders.

"We were very impressed with what you knew about leadership and your experience in using that leadership to help organizations improve their results, and in helping others learn and grow. We were also impressed with your customer focus - you wanted to know what we wanted you to help us accomplish. I remember you sitting during the lunch hour in a work area we had at the conference, making changes to your PowerPoint presentation so that your messages would be better aligned with speakers who were on the program in the morning. Thank you for your leadership."

Larry Beckon, Michigan Department of Transportation

"Thank you for your thought-provoking presentation to our divisional staff. The feedback we received from the staff was very positive."

Gerry Stuart, Assistant Deputy Minister/Chief Administrative Officer, Ontario Ministry of Community Safety and Correction Services

"Great content, very inspiring!"

Louis Roy, Library Technician, Communications Security Establishment

"Very enlightening and enjoyable. Excellent."

Matilda Rideout, Government of Alberta

"Good presenter. Humorous but applicable examples."

Steve Pritchard, Government of Alberta

"Excellent presenter, content very applicable to my role at work."

Ted Osepchuk, Government of Alberta

"Concrete ideas on how to put old ideas to use."

Susan O’Connor, Government of Alberta

"Some excellent food for thought so we can get ourselves out of the rut we often find ourselves in."

Maureen O’Connell, Government of Alberta

"The Compass Kitchener Community Roundtable Workshop was very successful and having you speak on Friday was a great kick-off. We had many comments on the workshop evaluations that your talk was one of the things people most enjoyed about the weekend. As we move forward in this process, we will take your inspirational message with us. I hope we will have the opportunity to work together again in the future."
